Hi! I’m Maddie, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) and the owner of On Point Dog Training. I spent several years working hands on in the pet industry prior to becoming certified, building a strong foundation in canine behaviour, training, and overall wellness.

My training approach is proactive and focused on setting dogs up for success from the very beginning. I’m passionate about helping dogs and their people build strong, lasting relationships rooted in trust, clarity, and communication. Each program I create is tailored to the individual dog and household, ensuring both ends of the leash feel confident throughout the process.

I’m also committed to continuing education and regularly take part in webinars, online courses, and professional development opportunities. I genuinely love learning and staying current with modern, science-based training approaches so I can continue to grow and improve as a trainer.

I’m also actively involved in dog sports with my 4 year-old Hungarian Vizsla, Maeve. We train and compete in rally obedience, agility, scent detection, hunt tests and even film work—experiences that continually shape and refine my approach to training. I’ve recently welcomed a second Vizsla puppy, Soleil (so-lay), who I’m raising with the same goals and structure in mind.

I have a special interest in working with sporting and pointing breeds, as well as puppies, helping them develop the skills, structure, and confidence they need to thrive both at home and in more advanced training environments.
